Bridge 245 MSL Span Replacement

Our Civil team has recently wrapped up the Kiwi Rail Bridge 245 MSL Span replacement at Green Island, Dunedin.

Located right beside the Green Island Rugby Club, the project came with plenty of challenges – from keeping heavy traffic moving on a closed road, to working over water with a strong focus on sediment control and protecting the environment.

Using our Liebeherr LTM1130-5.1 mobile crane, the original 2 span bridge and hard wood trestle were removed and  the replacement span was lifted into place, with the crew working around the clock from 6am Saturday morning to midday Sunday – delivering the block of line 24 hours ahead of schedule. 👏
