LR1100 completes biggest single-crane lift in NZ

Our new LR11000 has just completed one of the biggest single-crane lifts ever carried out in New Zealand! 🏗️

The team successfully placed the 90m Te Reinga Bridge span over the Wairoa River - standing 18m high and weighing in at 200t, using our 1000t Liebherr LR11000 crawler crane.

To put the scale into perspective, a 600t crawler in the same setup could only safely lift around 100t, and a 500t crawler would manage roughly 80t. The 1000t crawler had a safe working load of 250t, making it 2.5 x stronger for this lift. The LR11000 gave us the capacity we needed, reduced the number of cranes on site, and significantly lowered overall project risk - making it the ideal choice for this critical lift.

Big Thank you to Chris Cable our temporary works engineer, Jason Campbell and the hard working crew for getting the LR11000 transported to site, assembled and lifting the bridge safely into position.

Thanks to our valued client Brian Perry Civil for trusting us with this impressive lift.
