SCC Crew returns from Antarctica

Recently our crew has been working down in Antarctica on the Discovery Pier Project at McMurdo Station, working along side crews from LT McGuinness, McMillian Civil, RCP and the United States Navy Seabees.

The works included the extraction of five 25m-long piles, followed by drilling and placing a total of twelve piles to receive precast concrete abutments. These will connect to a barge currently en route from the United States and scheduled to arrive in February 2026.

Congratulations to George Patterson, for being awarded a US Military service coin for his hard work, dedication and constant support to the United States Antarctic Program and the US Navy Seabees for the project.

Big thanks to our valued client Antarctica NZ for this opportunity.
